365FarmNet alternatives 2026: farm record software compared
Which farm record software can replace 365FarmNet? Providers in Germany and Austria, their published prices and criteria for choosing – with sources and dates.
Key points
- Not one market: the programs differ more in focus than in price. Machine platforms, documentation software and sector software solve different tasks.
- Pricing models: per hectare, in hectare bands, as a base licence with modules or per month. Compare the cost for your farm including all modules and users you need.
- 2027 duty: every solution should record plant protection applications electronically in a machine-readable format and export them.
- Test: most providers offer trial access. Try two or three programs with real entries.

With 365FarmNet being switched off on 30 November 2026, many farms in Germany and Austria are looking for new farm record software (in German: Ackerschlagkartei). The market is broad: platforms of machinery manufacturers, programs from advisory services and cooperatives, and specialised apps for horticulture and contractors. This comparison lists common offers with their publicly stated prices and shows which criteria help you choose.
All prices come from the providers' websites or the sources named and were retrieved in September 2026. Offers change; the provider's current offer is what counts. Net means excluding VAT.

Comparing costs properly
Looking only at the entry price is misleading. Calculate for your farm:
- Area: which band applies to your farmed area?
- Modules: are fertiliser planning, plant protection checks, stock or gross margin included or extra?
- Users and devices: does every additional person or phone cost extra?
- Several farms: are there extra fees for farm units or sites?
- Term: cancellable monthly or an annual contract?
An example with 250 ha, two people and fertiliser planning leads to very different totals depending on the model. Put the offers side by side before you decide.
Criteria for choosing
Statutory documentation
- Plant protection: authorisation number, EPPO code, BBCH stage, georeference, user; electronic export from 2027
- Fertilisation: fertiliser requirement under the DüV, record within 14 days, annual summary under Annex 5
- Traceable corrections instead of overwritten entries
Import and export
- Import of field boundaries from shapefile, ISOXML or GeoJSON
- Export of your own data in open formats such as CSV or JSON
- The option to take everything with you if you switch again later
Teamwork
- Several people with roles and permissions
- Recording on a phone directly in the field
- Tasks and orders for staff or contractors
Enterprises
- Arable, grassland, vegetables, fruit, nurseries, greenhouses
- Many plantings and tank mixes in vegetable production
- Plant passports and evidence for nurseries
Independence
Machine platforms play to their strengths with equipment from the same manufacturer. Farms with mixed fleets, contractors or mostly manual work benefit more from software that is independent of a machine brand. More on this in CLAAS connect or independent farm software.
How to test programs sensibly
A trial only tells you something if you do real work in it. Give every program the same three tasks: import the field boundaries, record a plant protection application over two fields with a tank mix, and open the CSV export. Pay attention to how many clicks and entries are needed, whether required fields are enforced and whether the exported file contains all columns. If you work with several people, invite a second person and check what they can see and change.
Where PhytAI fits
PhytAI starts from the statutory documentation: plant protection records with checks of required fields and against the German approval register (BVL), fertiliser requirement under the DüV, evidence such as sprayer inspections and operator training, and team tasks. PhytAI deliberately offers no machine telemetry, tracks or yield maps. The price applies per farm and year with all features and unlimited users; the first 30 days are free.
Frequently asked questions
Which farm record software is best? It depends on the farm. An arable farm with CLAAS machines has different needs from a vegetable farm with many plantings. What matters are statutory documentation, everyday usability and the cost including all necessary modules.
Is there free farm record software? Some providers offer free entry versions with limited scope. The German federal states also provide tools, such as the PSM-DOK web application for plant protection records. For fertiliser planning and teamwork they usually do not suffice.
Can I take my data with me later? Check that the contract includes exports in open formats. Without them, every further switch becomes laborious.
